Last night was a painful but intriging night for my eyes while I watched MTV’s VMAs in Brooklyn, New York. Between Miley Cyrus twerking and “V’ popping and Taylor Swift “STFU’ diss to her former One Direction exboyfriend, I really am lost for words!
Lets begin with Miley Cyrus. Oh Miley what are we going to do with you! Miley Cryus is currently a good girl Disney star who has turned into a wannabe gangsta white girl. Seriously Miley hit the gym and get that gangsta big booty. If you are going to talk the talk, you should also consider to walk the walk. Will Smith’s family facial expression were priceless as they watch Miley twerk around stage and grind up on Robin Thicke.
Speaking of booties… HELLO LADY GAGA! Lady Gaga disappeared for a while due to a hip injury and some legal issues. Gaga has come back as a new artist. She is performing more natural and no more meat outfits. And lets talk about that booty! Her toned body look absolutely amazing as she performed her new song “Applause”.
Justine Timberlake literally gave me chills and butterflies in my stomach as I watched him perform last night. The sexy man brought sexy back and sweeped the VMAs. He also made every 90s’ chick dream come true by bring out N’Sync out on the stage. It truly was a magical performance to watch!
Taylor Swift openly dissed her former ex from One Directions! She thanked him for the inspiration to writing a VMA award-winning song. You go Taylor Swift! Hopefully you next ex boyfriend will give more inspiration;)
Now lets talk Fashion! The outfits last night were very fashionable and on trend. It looks like this fall we will see a lot of bold lips! Some actress looked like Brat Dollz, but others looked very elegant and beautiful. Here are some of my favorite and not so favorite outfits.
Lately young guys are caring about what they are wearing or how they look. Lets face it… Men are starting to show their inner fashionista! One trend that almost every guy is completely in love with is the famous tank top. This summer the tank top has taken over all guys’ wardrobes. Tank Tops do not just come in plain colors anymore. You can find your average tank top in tribal pattern, diamonds, cats and even pineapples. Tank tops are easy to wear. You can dress up or dress down a tank top. Here we have your average freshmen student, trying to look fresh for his first day of summer classes. He grabbed his tank top, jeans, and favorite sneakers and created the perfect outfit. His messenger bag, tribal beaded bracelets and long board give this look a perfect trendy, surfer boy feel. If you pair a tank top with jeans make sure to roll up the bottom of the jeans. You can either give the jeans a 50’s inspired look or a man Capri inspired look. Pair the jeans and tank top with you favorite Nikes or Converse. To add some flare to your outfit add some cool trendy tribal bracelets and some of the famous hipster glasses. To dress down a tank top, you can wear some colored shorts or even patterned shorts. Some shorts that are on trend right now are Chubbies (short shorts for men) and colored or pattern board shorts. Pair the shorts and the tank top with some rubber flip-flops and you have yourself a perfect summer day look. Essentially all you would need is to buy a unique and trendy tank top. If you have a pair of jeans and sneakers, you are already half way there. This look is very easy to wear and very on trend. The look is nothing to out there, but also shows that you know how to dress yourself in a stylish way.
The 90s have made their way back this summer. Some of the hottest fashion trends this summer are inspired by some of the trends in the 90s. You see celebs and models rocking overalls, over sized band tees, large stripes especially in pants and comfy crop tops like the ones from the show Friends. A lot of the fashion trends this summer have that edgy dark, rocker feel. I see myself adding a bit of edge to my looks everyday. In fact, two years ago I bought a pair of overall at a thrift shop in New Orleans. Now I am pulling those bad boys out from the back of my closet and seeing how I can wear them. Check out my instagram: Renewyourself to see how I wear my overalls!
Instead of wearing red, white and blue this July, you have to rock the faded neon craze. Neon is back, but not the bright and vibrant neon. Celebs and fashionista are rocking neon in a faded and vintage way. I absolutely LOVE this trend. I bought a pair a boyfriend pants in a faded neon pink from Old Navy! This trend can be worn in manys either casual or fancy. Check out my Instagram to see my Faded Neon look from my closet!!
On Wedensday night I stayed up till 3:00 in the morning brian storming my next project. I have officially started a YouTube Channel! I did my first video yesterday. It literally took me 5-6 hours between recording it and editing, but I have to say I am very project of my first video. I did a Fourth of July tutorial. I created four different Fourth of July inspired looks from my closet.

Fourth of July is around the corner! If you don’t have a cute outfit to wear to all the barbques and Fourth of July parties, dont worry because you can make your own. Take you old jean short and vamp them up! I took my old jean shorts and turned one of the pockets into an American Flag! Here are all the steps and supplies you will need!
- American Flag Fabric
- Needle and Thread or Fabric Glue
- Fabric Scissors
- Jeans Shorts
- Step 1: Cut out one of the back pockets with a pair of fabric scissors
- Step 2: Measure out the pocket and trace it onto the fabric with chalk or a sharpie. Cut out the traced out pocket.
- Step 3: Sew the pocket onto the shorts with the needle and thread. You can also use fabric glue to place the pocket.
With three easy steps you have “renewed” your old jean shorts.
